According to HUR, the operation was carried out on December 6, marking Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day. Fighters from the HUR special unit known as the “Prymary” tracked and struck the Russian surface-to-air missile system near the village of Sviatotroitske on temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
The Buk-M3 is one of Russia’s most advanced and costly medium-range air defense systems, designed to intercept aircraft, cruise missiles, and drones. Ukrainian intelligence said the system was successfully destroyed, dealing another blow to Russia’s air defense capabilities in southern Ukraine.
Previously, HUR said its special operations drone unit known as “Prymary” has destroyed eight Russian targets in Crimea over the past two weeks, striking aircraft, radar installations, and logistics assets in a series of coordinated precision attacks, according to the agency report.
HUR said its operators “continue systematic demilitarization on the temporarily occupied peninsula,” citing strikes on a Su-24 frontline bomber, an antenna inside a radio-transparent dome, a 39N6 Kasta-2E2 radar, an Orion unmanned aerial vehicle, two 48Ya6-K1 Podlet radar stations, a military cargo train, and a Ural logistics truck used by Russian forces.
