Ukrainian Intelligence Reports Elimination of Notorious Russian Major in Luhansk

On October 18, 2024, around 11:40 AM, an explosion occurred in the center of temporarily occupied Luhansk, resulting in the destruction of a vehicle belonging to the Russian forces. The vehicle, identified as a UAZ Patriot, was carrying Major Dmitry Pervukha of the Russian Armed Forces at the time of the incident.

According to HUR  The explosion has been confirmed to have killed Pervukha, who held a position as the so-called “Chief of Staff for Military and Security Services” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This major served under the 273rd Reconnaissance Center of the Russian Armed Forces, with a permanent stationing point located in Novosibirsk.

The Chief Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine HUR emphasized that this incident reflects ongoing accountability for war crimes committed against Ukraine. The HUR reiterated that every crime in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine “met with just retribution.”
