34% of Ukraine’s Weapons Are Now Domestically Produced, Says Zelenskyy
Approximately 34% of all weapons in Ukraine are domestically produced, while the rest are supplied by Europe and the US, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared this information during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on January 15.
“Of the 100% of what is needed annually, this represents significant growth. It was previously less than 10%. Around 30% comes from Europe, and more than 30%, approximately 40% from the US,” stated Zelenskyy.
“So, when questions arise about whether we can manage with or without certain types of aid, we cannot consider the guarantees of today’s support without one of the key players.”
During the same press conference, Zelenskyy revealed that Russia currently has more than 600,000 soldiers stationed in Ukraine, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces number is approximately 880,000.
On January 9, the US unveiled a $500 million military aid package for Ukraine during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, known as the Ramstein meeting.
