Ukrainian Navy Destroys Over 37,000 Russian Drones and Sinks Five Ships in 2024
In 2024, Ukrainian naval forces destroyed more than 37,000 Russian drones, according to a report from the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 1.
Ukrainian Navy stated in a Facebook post that this includes Russian attack drones, operational and tactical UAVs, FPV drones, and Shahed-type attack drones.
According to the report, Russia’s drone losses are the following.
35,670 destroyed FPV drones;
1,140 attack drones;
192 operational and tactical drones;
164 Shahed-136/131 drones.
Additionally, Ukrainian naval forces sunk five Russian ships and destroyed 458 watercraft.
On January 1, Russia launched a drone attack on Kyiv, causing widespread damage, killing two people and injuring seven, including two pregnant women.
Ahead of winter, Russia intensified its drone attacks on Ukraine, aiming to destroy energy infrastructure along with civilian targets.
