As a result, four Russian soldiers surrendered and were captured. Furthermore, one Russian combatant who resisted was neutralized on-site.
“The prisoners will be added to the exchange pool and serve as further evidence that Russian units are losing control over the situation, even in their own positions,” the statement read.
In another operation, Ukraine’s 12th Special Purpose Brigade “Azov” reported the capture of 18 Russian servicemen over a 24-hour period during an operation in the village of Zolotyi Kolodiaz on the Dobropillia direction. The operation, which lasted 21 days, aimed to clear a street where Russian forces had entrenched themselves in buildings and basements.

A fighter from the unit stated that the first prisoners were taken from the third house along the street, and that initial questioning led to the surrender of additional soldiers. Communication with the Russian troops was eased when one of the prisoners spoke English.
The Azov fighter shared that Russian troops were given the choice to surrender: “If someone is inside, give up, you will live,” but those who resisted were warned they would be killed.
In a separate development, Ukrainian troops from the 425th Separate Assault Briagde “Skala” successfully pushed Russian forces back from the administrative border between the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.
According to the soldiers, the assault pushed Russian troops back by nearly three kilometers along the Novopavlivka axis, marking another significant gain for Ukrainian forces in the region.
