The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh conducted a successful sabotage operation deep behind Russian lines in the occupied city of Melitopol, the group reported on June 10.
According to Atesh, agents destroyed a Russian UAZ Patriot vehicle equipped with mobile electronic warfare (EW) systems belonging to drone operators from Russia’s 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade.

“This vehicle was used for covert movement and tactical missions in southern Ukraine. Now the enemy is left without a critical piece of equipment — and given the current shortage of military vehicles on the front line, this temporarily paralyzes the operations of their unit,” Atesh stated.
The group said the operation required extensive planning. Agents first identified the vehicle’s parking location, studied the daily routines of its crew, and waited for the moment when the vehicle was left unguarded.
They then used an incendiary mixture to set it ablaze. The fire reportedly engulfed and destroyed the vehicle within seconds.
The 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which has been involved in several operations across occupied territories in southern Ukraine, has also been previously linked to documented war crimes in Bucha during the early stages of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Earlier, Ukrainian military intelligence reportedly carried out multiple operations in South Africa aimed at preventing the transfer of weapons to Russia.
