The partisan group ATESH has reported a disruption to Russian railway logistics supporting operations on the Kupiansk front.

According to the statement published by the partisans, Atesh operatives carried out a sabotage operation in Voronezh’s Zheleznodorozhny district, destroying a diesel locomotive used to transport military cargo, mainly supplies destined for Russian units deployed near Kupiansk.

The loss of the locomotive reportedly complicated the assembly of military rail convoys and led to delays in the departure of trains carrying weapons and military equipment.

Representatives of the movement said such actions weaken the resilience of Russia’s broader military logistics system and assist Ukraine’s Defense Forces in liberating areas of the Kharkiv region.

“Agents of Atesh continue to methodically destroy infrastructure that supports the military operations of the Russian Armed Forces. Putin’s army is suffering losses in rear cities both in occupied Ukrainian territories and deep inside Russia thanks to the actions of our agents,” the group said.

In a related operation, fighters from the “Freedom of Russia” Legion, who are fighting on Ukraine’s side, carried out a separate act of sabotage targeting Russian military logistics in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), the operation took place in November, with details made public on December 19. An explosion was set off on a railway section between the temporarily occupied villages of Vesele and Novouspenivka, disrupting one of Russia’s key supply routes in the area.

The blast derailed a 2M62 mainline diesel locomotive along with 25 freight railcars, effectively shutting down all traffic on that branch and further complicating Russian logistical operations in southern Ukraine.

Earlier, a freight train was thrown off the tracks by a strong explosion near the village of Sosnovka in Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai, disrupting operations on the Trans-Siberian Railway, one of the country’s most vital transport corridors.
