The Ukrainian referee, who officiated matches at the first-ever Women’s World Championship, has been named among the top 10 contenders. The winners of the nominations will be announced on January 7. The tournament marked the first-ever Women’s Futsal World Cup. A total of 26 referees worked at the event, including eight officials from Europe.

The Ukrainian Futsal Association previously praised Myslovska’s achievement, stating: “This is the result of long-term preparation and professionalism recognized at the highest level. We are proud of Maria and wish her continued success at the World Cup.”

In another milestone for Ukrainian sport, sumo wrestler Danylo Yavhustyshyn has also etched his name into history. Ukrainian media outlet Suspilne reported on November 23 that Yavhustyshyn became the first athlete from Ukraine to win the Emperor’s Cup, the highest honor in professional sumo, at Japan’s prestigious Kyushu Basho tournament.

The Kyushu Basho, held in Fukuoka from November 9 to 23, is the final of Japan’s six annual grand sumo tournaments. This year’s event featured two Ukrainian competitors: Serhii Sokolovskyi, who competes under the ring name Shishi Masaru, and Yavhustyshyn, known in sumo as Aonishiki.

Earlier, Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatska reached a significant career landmark by claiming her 10th ITF singles title, triumphing at the W35 tournament in Qiandaohu, China.
