Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatska has secured a major milestone in her career, winning her 10th career title on the ITF circuit at the W35 tournament in Qiandaohu, China.
This was reported by Suspilne Sport on October 26.
The final saw the world No. 407 battle for 2 hours and 35 minutes against “neutral” Ekaterina Reyngold (ranked No. 317) in their first-ever meeting.
Zavatska's path to the title was challenging, as she defeated four Chinese opponents, including Shi Yu Hseih in the semi-finals.
In the hard-fought final, Zavatska took the first set, but Reyngold pushed back to level the match at one set all. The Ukrainian, however, dominated the deciding third set, defeating Reyngold with a final score of 6:2, 3:6, 6:2 to claim the milestone trophy.

Previously, Ukraine’s top player, Elina Svitolina, has climbed back into the top 20 of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings for the first time in ten months.
The latest WTA update, published on March 31, shows Svitolina advancing four spots to secure the 18th position.
This achievement follows her strong run at the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami, where she reached the Round of 16. Svitolina had previously been ranked outside the top 20 since May 2024.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian tennis player Lesia Tsurenko is suing the WTA, claiming the organization has failed to uphold its rules by allowing athletes from Russia and Belarus who publicly endorsed the full-scale invasion of Ukraine to continue competing.
