Ukrainian Snipers Repel Russian Assault in Close-Quarters Battle on Zaporizhzhia Front, Video

Snipers of the 144th Center of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine engaged in a close-quarters battle with a Russian assault group during a recent engagement on the Zaporizhzhia front, successfully repelling the attack and restoring control over frontline positions.
According to a statement from Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, the incident occurred as the sniper team was operating from positions held by a neighboring unit.
During their mission, Russian forces launched a coordinated assault involving artillery, infantry, and drones. Amid the attack, Russian troops breached Ukrainian trenches, initiating direct combat contact.
Faced with the advancing Russian unit, the Ukrainian snipers set aside their long-range weapons and responded with grenades, assault rifles, and machine guns.
The Special Operations Forces reported that the team managed to halt the Russian advance and cleared the trenches of enemy personnel.
The press service of the SSO published a video of the engagement, which it said demonstrated the coordinated response and training of the operators involved. The command noted that Ukrainian forces maintained control of the position following the clash.
Earlier, on the night of August 9–10, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces destroyed a Russian TRLK-10 “Skala-M” long-range radar system in the occupied Crimean settlement of Abrykosivka. The radar, capable of tracking air targets up to 350 kilometers, was a key component of Russia’s airspace control over the peninsula.
