Ukrainian Special Ops Hit Russian Cargo Ship Loaded With Iranian Shahed Drones

Ukrainian Special Operations Forces hit Russia’s “Olya” seaport in the Astrakhan region, targeting a vessel reportedly carrying Iranian-made drone parts and ammunition, Ukraine’s General Staff announced on August 14.
According to preliminary reports, the strike damaged the cargo ship Port Olya-4, which was allegedly loaded with components for Shahed attack drones and other munitions shipped from Iran. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The operation—coordinated with other branches of Ukraine’s Armed Forces—was aimed at weakening Russia’s ability to launch aerial strikes on Ukrainian territory.

Military officials said the Olya port serves as a key logistics hub for Moscow, facilitating the delivery of military supplies from Iran.
Located in the village of Olya in Astrakhan’s Limansky district, the port sits in the Volga River delta, which flows into the Caspian Sea. Ukrainian forces did not disclose the exact weapons or methods used in the attack.
Earlier, reports emerged that a key navigation system component, an 11-element anti-jamming antenna used in Shahed-series attack drones, is now being openly sold on a major Chinese e-commerce site.
