In temporarily occupied Crimea, strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces have significantly damaged the Saky Thermal Power Plant, according to Militarnyi on November 18.

Militarnyi reported that the plant, located in the town of Saky and operated by the Russian-controlled company KrymTEC, was hit during a recent series of Ukrainian attacks on military and energy infrastructure in the occupied peninsula.

The outlet reported that analysts from the Dnipro OSINT project confirmed the consequences of the strike after reviewing satellite imagery that showed significant damage to part of the main building of the facility.

Additional satellite imagery shared by the Dnipro OSINT project and corroborated by pro-Ukrainian monitoring channels showed scorch marks and structural damage on the plant site, which they stated were consistent with a successful strike on key power generation equipment.

The Saky plant is a combined heat and power station that runs primarily on natural gas and is a key source of electricity and district heating for the town, with an installed capacity of about 120 megawatts following a modernization program completed in 2019.

Earlier, it was reported that Feodosia oil‑terminal in Crimea was struck by drones, with fires burning for days.
