The US Army has ordered Javelin missiles and related equipment and services for fiscal year 2024 at a total cost of $1.3 billion. More than 4,000 Javelin missiles from this contract will go to Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the RTX corporation.

“Now more than ever, Javelin is recognized as the most effective, combat-proven anti-armor weapon system in the world,” said Andy Amaro, Javelin Joint Venture (JJV) President and Javelin program director at Raytheon, an RTX business.

This is the largest single-year Javelin production contract to date. It also includes more than 4,000 Javelins to replenish rounds sent to Ukraine.

With more than 25 international customers worldwide, the contract supports increased global demand for Javelin, including a new international customer, Kosovo.

To date, the JJV has produced more than 50,000 Javelin missiles and more than 12,000 reusable Command Launch Units.
