The United States is set to deliver the full $61 billion in aid approved by Congress to Ukraine by the end of President Biden’s term, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

“The United States has been serving our own resources and security assistance to continue to help build up Ukraine's air defenses, its artillery, its armored vehicles,” he said.

“We are determined, and it's my intent and the President's intent, to spend every cent that we have available from the $61 billion that were authorized by Congress in the supplemental appropriation.”

The United States House of Representatives approved a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine on April 24, 2024. President Joe Biden signed the legislation into law on April 24, 2024.

Previously on November 3, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stressed Ukraine’s urgent need for additional air defense systems to protect civilians and infrastructure from Russia’s targeted strikes.

“And we are speaking about the urgent supply of at least 20 additional system types: HAWK, NASAMS or IRIS-T and it will help us to avoid blackouts," he said.

On December 3, The United States has unveiled a $725 million defense package to support Ukraine.
