US Secretary Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary Lammy Arrive in Kyiv for Diplomatic Visit
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy have arrived in Kyiv for discussions with Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, also arrived in Kyiv from London, where he has been engaged in diplomatic efforts.
According to the US State Department, discussions will focus on further support for Ukraine’s defense, as well as long-term strategies for military, economic, and democratic stability. The talks in Kyiv are expected to address Ukraine’s immediate defense needs, with an eye on securing lasting stability.
The following day, September 12, Blinken will travel to Poland to meet with Polish officials. The agenda includes discussions on deepening defense and energy cooperation and coordinating NATO efforts to support Ukraine.
Earlier, the UK, Germany, and France have imposed new sanctions on Iran in response to its supply of ballistic missiles to Russia, further intensifying international efforts to limit military cooperation between Russia and Iran.
