Vance: Trump Administration Will Work to Bridge Ukraine-Russia Divide in the Next 100 Days

US Vice President JD Vance stated that there is “a very big gulf” between Ukraine and Russia regarding their visions for ending the war. As a result, the administration of President Donald Trump will work to “try to bridge these sides.”
He made this remark in an interview with Fox News on April 30.
When asked to comment on the status of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Vance explained that “the first and necessary step of getting the Russia-Ukraine conflict solved is to get each of them to make a peace proposal.”
“And that’s actually happened. The Ukrainians have said, ‘This is what we want.’ The Russians have said, ‘This is what we want,’ and now the work of diplomacy is to try to sort of bring these two sides closer together. Because there’s a very big gulf between what the Russians want and what the Ukrainians want,” Vance said.

He added that the “peace proposals” have already been made, and during the next 100 days of President Trump’s term, his administration will going to work “very hard over the next 100 days to try to bring these guys together.”
Previously on April 30, the United States and Ukraine finalized a minerals agreement, marking a new phase in their bilateral relations.
The deal, signed in Washington, includes the creation of a joint investment fund focused on Ukraine’s vast mineral reserves, oil and gas development, and infrastructure rebuilding.
