“Just spoke with US President Donald Trump. His representatives—Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner—also joined the call. Our teams are working intensively, and I thank them for their efforts to advance negotiations and help end the war,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukraine anticipates that these discussions will serve as a foundation for transitioning to direct negotiations at the leadership level. President Trump has expressed support for this sequence of steps.

The leaders also discussed the agenda for an upcoming bilateral meeting between Ukrainian and US representatives in Geneva. These talks are intended to prepare for the full trilateral meeting of negotiating teams in early March.

Zelenskyy emphasized that this approach is the only way to resolve sensitive issues and conclude Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian President also highlighted the importance of the PURL  program. He remarked that while this winter has been the most difficult for Ukraine, the ability to purchase air defense missiles from the US has been vital in protecting lives and addressing current challenges.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the BBC that Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine had already transitioned into a global war.

He argued that the international community must focus on halting the Russian advance and preventing further territorial seizures.

Zelenskyy explained that withdrawing troops from eastern regions would be seen as abandoning hundreds of thousands of citizens, warning that such a move would likely cause deep divisions within Ukrainian society.
