Zelenskyy Arrives in Berlin to Discuss Enhancing German Support and Ceasefire Efforts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Berlin on May 28 for a visit focused on securing Germany’s support for Ukraine and advancing ceasefire negotiations.
The visit is scheduled to include meetings with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and business representatives.
According to German government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius, the visit’s primary agenda centers on Germany’s continued assistance to Ukraine amid ongoing war and collaborative efforts to achieve a ceasefire.
Zelenskyy’s program includes a scheduled meeting with Chancellor Merz, followed by a joint press conference at 13:30 local time. Afterward, both leaders will engage with representatives from major German companies to discuss further cooperation.
According to Der Spiegel on May 26, Merz plans to discuss potential steps toward renewed technical negotiations between Ukraine and Russia during a personal meeting with Zelenskyy.
