Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia aims to manufacture as many as 500 drones per day, Suspilne reported, citing his statements during a press briefing on May 27.

He noted the ongoing preparations to reach this production capacity but expressed doubt that Russia has fully achieved it.

“They are preparing to have the capacity to produce 300 to 350 drones daily. This is their current realistic situation. They have been tasked with producing 500 drones a day, but I do not believe they have reached that level,” Zelenskyy explained.

The president also warned that on some days, Russian forces could accumulate drones and launch up to 1,000 in attacks on Ukraine.

“I do not accept the figure of 1,000 as a daily standard, but we must understand that they could build reserves over several days and then have such a day. It is impossible to say that such an event won’t happen,” Zelenskyy added.

He also described a recent successful operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine that involved deploying a large number of drones.

“Recently, we carried out a notable strike using 400 small drones simultaneously, destroying more than 40 units of enemy equipment at once. This action was conducted exclusively by military personnel on the battlefield. We plan to demonstrate capabilities far beyond this operation,” Zelenskyy said.

During the same briefing, Zelenskyy provided an update on Ukraine’s defense priorities, international negotiations, and ongoing military strategies in the war against Russia.
