Ukrainian President stated that China is actively assisting Russia in prolonging the war against Ukraine, based on “clear intelligence data,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in Brussels on October 17.

“We are receiving signals that China is actively helping Russia drag out this war,” Zelenskyy said, citing “clear intelligence data.”

He also pointed out that Moscow is receiving additional support from Iran and North Korea in arms and personnel.

Zelenskyy addressed the European Council meeting in Brussels, following the unveiling of his five-point victory plan in the Ukrainian parliament.

One key point of the plan involves a “non-nuclear deterrence package” stationed on Ukrainian soil, supported by nations like the US, the UK, France, Germany, and Italy.

“This is about peace through strength,” Zelenskyy added.

“Putin must respect our power, not cause the free world to tremble at his threats.”

The deterrence package would only be deployed if Russia refuses to stop its aggression, according to the Ukrainian leader.

Zelenskyy also outlined the remaining components of his victory plan, including an immediate invitation to NATO, defense and economic support, and a post-war security framework. He urged continued backing from Europe, warning that “Putin is preparing his reinforcements to continue the war.”

Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte confirmed his awareness of Ukraine’s newly unveiled “victory plan” and discussed next steps.
