Zelenskyy Introduces First Batch of Advanced Peklo Rocket Drones to Ukrainian Military
On Armed Forces Day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered the first batch of domestically produced Peklo rocket drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian media Ukrinform reported on December 6.
These mark the first series of Ukrainian-made rocket drones to enter serial production and be officially transferred to the military.
“Already, there have been 5 successful uses of the 'Peklo’ rocket drones,” officials revealed during the ceremony.
The Peklo drone boasts a strike range of 700 kilometers and a top speed of 700 km/h.
Additional technical details and the number of units delivered remain undisclosed for security reasons, officials highlighted its innovative design, calling it a fundamentally new type of weapon.
Attendees emphasized that the performance of the Ukrainian-made drone missiles rivals certain types of Russian cruise missiles but at a significantly lower cost.
The event was attended by several top officials, including Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Hvozdiar, and Presidential Adviser on Strategic Issues Oleksandr Kamyshin.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Minister reported that Ukraine is scaling up the production of domestic Neptune cruise missiles and launching the Palianytsia rocket drone into mass production.
