In a video address published on February 28, the Ukrainian President characterized the strikes as fair, detailing the extensive military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow that has devastated Ukrainian infrastructure over the past four years.

According to President Zelenskyy’s briefing, Iran’s role in the Russian invasion has evolved from a hardware supplier to a primary technological partner. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine never posed a threat to Tehran, yet the Iranian regime voluntarily chose to be an accomplice to Putin.

Data provided by the President highlights the massive scale of this cooperation, with over 57,000 Iranian-designed Shahed loitering munitions launched against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. These drones have been systematically directed at civilian populations, urban centers, and the national energy grid.

Beyond providing finished units, Iran has transferred manufacturing technologies and blueprints, allowing Russia to produce these weapons domestically.

President Zelenskyy noted that the neutralization of the current Iranian regime is a prerequisite for regional and global security. Zelenskyy stated: “Therefore, it is fair to give the Iranian people a chance to rid themselves of a terrorist regime – to rid themselves of it and to guarantee security for all nations that have suffered from terror originating in Iran.”

The President further remarked on the importance of American leadership in curbing the reach of global criminals, noting that US resolve is a primary factor in weakening such regimes.

On February 28, Israel carried out strikes on Tehran. The United States expressed support for the operation and announced “Operation Epic Fury.” US President Donald Trump accused Iran of “financing and training” militants in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine.

Trump said the objective of the US military operation was the “destruction of Iran’s missile industry and fleet” and “ensuring Iran’s inability to destabilize the world.”
