Speaking at a briefing on February 28, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha addressed the situation following Israeli strikes on Iran’s capital and Washington’s announcement of “Operation Epic Fury.”
Sybiha stated that Ukraine’s position toward Iran remains consistent. “We are always on the side of the Iranian people, precisely the people.
In a statement published on February 28, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its position and directly referenced Iran’s military cooperation with Russia.
“We remember and will never forget the strikes of thousands of ‘Shaheeds’ on our peaceful cities and people. Such cooperation between the regimes in Moscow and Tehran constitutes a gross violation of international law and undermines global efforts to restore peace and stability,” the MFA said.
The Iranian regime, together with its operatives, terrorizes the region and maintains and finances terrorists and militants who bring destabilization to other countries,” Sybiha said.

He added that the Iranian authorities had opportunities to avoid a forceful scenario through diplomatic channels.
“Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the necessary warnings to Ukrainian citizens in time, so that they would leave the territory of Iran and the territory of other countries where their lives and safety may be under threat,” Sybiha stated, according to Suspilne.
On February 28, Israel carried out strikes on Tehran. The United States expressed support for the operation and announced “Operation Epic Fury.” US President Donald Trump accused Iran of “financing and training” militants in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine.

Trump said the objective of the US military operation was the “destruction of Iran’s missile industry and fleet” and “ensuring Iran’s inability to destabilize the world.”
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had launched missiles and drones toward Israel. “In response to the aggression of the hostile and criminal adversary against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first wave of large-scale missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occupied territories has begun,” the IRGC said in a statement.
