Zelenskyy Says Trump Discussed “Prosperity Package” for Jobs and Investment in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he discussed an economic recovery plan for Ukraine with US President Donald Trump, describing it as a “prosperity package” focused on rebuilding jobs and restoring daily life, according to his comments to journalists on December 30.
Zelenskyy said the plan “concerns all of Ukraine” and that Kyiv is preparing several documents under what he called the “prosperity package.”

He said Trump “is focused on this” and sees it as “task number one” to ensure Ukraine has jobs, adding that they discussed Ukrainians’ average wages and an idea to raise pay through US business entry under special conditions.
Zelenskyy said the US side wants wages “tripled,” but added he could not say that would happen immediately after the war ends, and said any special conditions would need to be fixed in agreements between the governments of Ukraine and the United States, and also with European partners.

He added that he and Trump also discussed the need for “serious” funds at the start of reconstruction to encourage people to return to jobs and wages, calling the proposal “a big prospect,” but concluded: “Let’s first end this war.”
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine ratified an agreement to establish a US–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund aimed at supporting recovery in war-damaged regions and boosting investment in critical infrastructure and industrial sectors.
