Zelenskyy Speaks Out During Putin-Trump Summit as Strikes Continue

Russian leader Vladimir Putin arrived in Anchorage on Friday to meet with US President Donald Trump at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, for talks focused on peace solutions for Ukraine. The summit comes amid continuing Russian attacks across the country.
Ahead of the talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted a video on social media, highlighting recent strikes across several regions, including Sumy, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk.
He said, “On the day of negotiations, they are killing as well. And that speaks volumes.”
Zelenskyy added, “Regarding what Putin is bringing to the table, we are also receiving reports from Ukraine’s regions following Russian strikes. The war continues, and it is precisely because there is neither an order nor even a signal that Moscow is preparing to end this war.”
He stressed Ukraine’s commitment to ending the fighting: “Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible to bring the war to an end, and we count on a strong position from America. Everything will depend on this—the Russians factor in American strength. Make no mistake—strength.”
Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to deploy strike drones across Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force has reported movement of Shahed drones in the country’s airspace.
On the same day, French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have agreed to meet after the upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
