Zelenskyy: Ukraine Wants the War to End As Soon As Possible, But Justly

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated on May 28 at a press conference in Brussels that Ukraine needs Western weapons to achieve the fastest possible victory over the Russian Federation. But in parallel, he said, the country should also follow a diplomatic path.

“We should know that Ukraine really wants the war to end as soon as possible, but justly. That's why we need weapons so that we are not completely destroyed so that we are not occupied, we need to fight back against this evil,” Zelenskyy said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine should defeat Russia with the help of weapons. But at the same time, a diplomatic path is proposed: “In parallel with this, we must follow the diplomatic path so that the war does not go on for ten years. We proposed a diplomatic path – the peace summit." Zelenskyy also said that Putin will give a "standing ovation" if Biden ignores this summit.

The Russian Federation is not alone in this war, since Iran is supplying drones and missiles, and North Korea is providing additional missiles and artillery shells. 

"And there are some things that we don't talk about publicly, but we see this supply, we see it from our intelligence and we don't say until there are 100% facts about the supply from one or another state to the Russian evil," Zelenskyy added.

US President Joe Biden is likely to miss the Peace Summit in Switzerland in June because of a campaign fundraiser in California. The US government has said that it will be represented at the Peace Summit in Switzerland, but it is not yet known who will go there.

"I would very much like Biden to personally attend the 'Peace Summit.' I consider the decision not to attend to be not very strong. Putin will be giving a standing ovation," Zelensyy said.
