Zelenskyy: Ukraine’s Operation That Hit 41 Russian Jets Was Run From FSB’s Backyard

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that the Ukrainian special operation on Russian airbases was conducted from a location situated directly next to the regional headquarters of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
On June 1, Ukraine launched coordinated strikes on four military airfields deep inside Russia. targeting over 40 combat aircraft, including Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers.
According to Zelenskyy, the operation involved 117 drones and the same number of drone operators.
“What’s most interesting – and this can now be stated publicly – is that the ‘office’ of our operation on Russian territory was located directly next to FSB headquarters in one of their regions,” he revealed.

“I thank the Security Service, General Maliuk personally, as well as everyone who was involved in the operation. The preparation took over a year and a half,” Zelenskyy said.
“Planning, organization, every detail was perfectly executed. I can say with certainty that this is an absolutely unique operation.”
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, which carried out Operation Spider Web, the strikes damaged or destroyed 34% of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers. While exact figures remain unverified, reports indicate that 41 aircraft were targeted, with 10 completely destroyed beyond repair.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the loss of these long-range bombers, critical to Russia’s ability to carry out deep strikes against Ukraine, will severely weaken its air capabilities. Russia no longer manufactures the Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 models, making such losses difficult to replace.
