Zelenskyy Unveils Footage of Drone Interceptors as Ukraine Bolsters Air Defenses

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released new footage showing the country’s interceptor drones in action, highlighting what he described as a major leap forward in countering Russia’s relentless nightly drone assaults, the President wrote on X on November 12.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s expanding fleet of interceptor drones—working alongside electronic warfare units, army aviation, and mobile fire teams—has already destroyed more than 150 Russian drones since the beginning of November.

“Almost every night, our defenders of the sky are working to repel Russian attacks,” Zelenskyy said.
“Together with electronic warfare units, army aviation, and mobile fire groups, the results of interceptor drones are already significantly increasing – more than 150 since the beginning of the month already, including shootdowns tonight. And there will be more.”
The President emphasized that Ukraine would continue to invest heavily in interceptor drone development and training programs.
“We will definitely continue to develop interceptor drone technology and train crews,” he said.

“The Ministry of Defense is contracting all available production capacity for interceptors. We are working on closer cooperation with partners – joint production and financing will let us scale this up faster. Thank you to everyone advancing this effort.”
Earlier, reports emerged that German-made Skynex air-defense systems supplied to Ukraine have successfully intercepted not only Shahed drones but also Russian cruise missiles such as the Kh-101 and Kalibr.
