Zelenskyy: U.S. Support for Ukraine Remains Strong, Partnership Will Continue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed that Ukraine’s partnership with the United States remains strong and that Washington’s support will continue, he told British journalists at Stansted Airport on March 2.
Zelenskyy emphasized that since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the U.S. has been Ukraine’s key partner, playing a critical role in Kyiv’s defense and resilience.
“I believe that the partnership between Ukraine and the United States is strong enough. Yes, at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, it was probably at its strongest because, before that, we had never received such a high level of support from the U.S. as we did after the war began.
I am confident that our cooperation will continue because it is more than just a momentary relationship. Ukraine’s failure would not just be a problem for one country—it would also be a failure for Europe and the United States.”
Zelenskyy also noted that had the international community taken stronger action against Russian aggression a decade ago and prevented the Kremlin’s territorial expansion, it could have sent a powerful deterrent signal and possibly averted the full-scale invasion.
“I believe we are all invested in ensuring that Putin does not have the opportunity to win,” Zelenskyy stressed.
Earlier, UNITED24 Media counted that Zelenskyy publicly expressed gratitude to the United States 94 times since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. This count is based on statements made through his official Telegram channel.
The findings come in response to remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during a meeting with Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on February 28.
During the meeting, Trump suggested that Zelenskyy had not shown enough appreciation, stating, “You have to be thankful. You don’t have the cards,” and later adding, “You gotta be more thankful.”
Vance echoed this sentiment, asking, “Have you said thank you once this entire meeting?”
