Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,010 Troops and 64 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost another 1,010 troops and 2,242 pieces of equipment over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on May 26.

According to the latest figures, Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,357,950.

Ukraine’s military also reported the destruction of one tank, seven armored combat vehicles, 64 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, one air defense system, 10 ground robotic systems, and 1,790 operational-tactical drones over the past day.

Russian logistics losses also continued to climb, with 374 vehicles and fuel tankers destroyed, along with three pieces of special equipment.

Overall Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 11,954 tanks, 24,615 armored combat vehicles, 42,751 artillery systems, 1,804 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,397 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 312,035 operational-tactical drones, 4,687 cruise missiles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.

The General Staff added that 267 combat engagements took place along the front line over the past day as Ukrainian forces continued to repel Russian attacks across multiple sectors.

Earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said Ukraine’s military position now looks stronger than at any point since Russia launched its full-scale war, pointing to a sharply unfavorable casualty ratio for Moscow.

Stubb added that Russia is currently losing eight soldiers for every one Ukrainian soldier killed.
