Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,020 Troops and 72 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost another 1,020 troops, 72 artillery systems, and two tanks over the past 24 hours, according to figures released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 12.
The updated battlefield assessment comes as fighting across the frontline remains intense, with Ukrainian officials reporting 174 combat engagements between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops during the previous day.

According to the General Staff, Russia’s total estimated losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have now reached approximately 1,343,050 personnel.
Ukraine also reported the destruction of two armored combat vehicles, two multiple launch rocket systems, two ground robotic systems, 1,252 operational-tactical UAVs, 145 military vehicles and fuel tankers, and one piece of special equipment over the past day.

The cumulative Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 11,926 tanks, 24,553 armored combat vehicles, 41,935 artillery systems, 1,785 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,373 air defense systems, 435 aircraft, 352 helicopters, 285,506 operational-tactical drones, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.
Earlier, reports emerged that Russia’s confirmed military losses in Ukraine exceeded 350,000 dead since the start of the full-scale invasion, according to a joint investigation by Meduza, Mediazona, and the BBC News Russian Service.
