Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,410 Troops, 30 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,410 troops and 30 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 8.

According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,499,390—610 short of 1.5 million.

Russia’s estimated tank losses remained unchanged at 12,332, while one armored combat vehicle was recorded as lost over the latest reporting period, bringing the cumulative total in that category to 25,285.

Artillery losses rose to 49,341 systems after another 30 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported one Russian multiple-launch rocket system and three air defense systems lost, bringing their respective totals to 2,104 and 1,612.

Estimated Russian aviation losses remained unchanged at 441 aircraft and 355 helicopters.

The General Staff also reported five unmanned ground systems lost over the past day, raising the cumulative figure in that category to 2,521.

Another 1,592 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost during the latest 24-hour period, bringing Russia’s total to 504,309.

Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 5,070 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 145,478 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,647 pieces of special equipment. Another 452 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost over the past day.

Earlier, reports emerged that Russia is preparing for a new wave of mobilization that could bring up to 600,000 additional people into its military through 2027 as Moscow struggles to replace battlefield losses while seeking enough manpower for further offensive operations in Ukraine.
