Daily Update: Russia Loses 2,090 Troops, 49 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 2,090 troops and 49 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 28.
According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,531,060.

Russian forces also lost one tank and eight armored combat vehicles during the latest reporting period, bringing cumulative losses to 12,385 tanks and 25,450 armored combat vehicles.
Artillery losses climbed to 50,477 systems after another 49 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported two additional multiple-launch rocket systems and two air defense systems lost, raising their respective totals to 2,165 and 1,679.
Russia’s estimated aviation losses remained unchanged at 443 aircraft and 356 helicopters.

Another 12 unmanned ground systems were recorded as lost, bringing the cumulative figure in that category to 2,774.
Ukraine also reported 1,382 operational-tactical UAVs lost over the past 24 hours, raising Russia’s estimated total to 537,228.
Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 5,118 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 154,735 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,763 pieces of special equipment. Another 490 vehicles and fuel tankers and seven pieces of special equipment were recorded as lost over the past day.
Fighting across the front remained intense, with Ukrainian forces recording 229 combat engagements during the latest reporting period.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia lost 10,660 troops killed or wounded across active sectors of the front over the past week, as Ukrainian forces continued operations in several of the most heavily contested areas.
