Daily Update: Russia Loses 880 Troops, 57 Artillery Systems, and 1,872 Drones in One Day

Russian occupation forces lost another 880 troops, three armored combat vehicles, and 57 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on May 22.
According to the latest figures, Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,353,860.

Ukraine’s military also reported the destruction of one tank, one multiple launch rocket system, one air defense system, four ground robotic systems, and 1,872 operational-tactical drones over the past day.
Russian logistics losses included 13 vehicles and fuel tankers. Overall, Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 11,944 tanks, 24,594 armored combat vehicles, and 42,511 artillery systems.

In addition, 1,798 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,390 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 304,659 operational-tactical drones, 4,632 cruise missiles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.
The General Staff added that 253 combat engagements took place along the front line over the past day as Ukrainian defenders continued to repel Russian attacks across multiple sectors.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated during a press briefing on May 16 that Ukraine’s strategic objective is to inflict 200 casualties on Russian servicemen for every square kilometer of territory they seize during their offensive.
