Inside Ukraine’s Week of Strikes That Reached Russia’s Airfields, Warships and Energy Network

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has released new details of a week-long series of long-range strikes carried out as part of its ongoing 40-day campaign aimed at degrading Russia’s military and economic capabilities, according to an official SBU statement published on July 27.

The operation, approved by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, targeted Russian military infrastructure, air defense assets, logistics, energy facilities, naval targets, and command posts across occupied Ukrainian territories and deep inside Russia, the agency said.

Military infrastructure and air defenses

• Belbek Air Base (temporarily occupied Crimea): Nebo-U long-range surveillance radar reportedly disabled;

• Saky Air Base (temporarily occupied Crimea): Fuel storage facility struck;

• Rostov-on-Don: 92N6E Grave Stone multifunction radar and its antenna tower, part of the S-400 Triumf air defense system, reportedly hit;

• Rostov-on-Don: Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system and Pole-21 electronic warfare complex reportedly destroyed;

• Malynivka (occupied Donetsk region) and Yany Kapu (occupied Crimea): Drone storage facilities and workshops targeted.

Naval and logistics targets

• Project 12418 Molniya missile boat struck in the Caspian Sea;

• Two sanctioned cargo vessels reportedly used to transport military cargo between Iran and Russia targeted.

Energy infrastructure

• Filanovsky oil production platform in the Caspian Sea struck;

• Subkhankulovo oil pumping station in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan hit after Ukrainian drones flew approximately 1,350 kilometers;

• Novospassky mini-refinery in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region targeted, approximately 900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border;

• 1st Plant mini-refinery in Russia’s Kaluga region also struck.

FSB facilities

• An FSB coordination center and personnel base in temporarily occupied Kherson region reportedly hit by 13 drones. The SBU said up to 100 personnel may have been present;

• Additional FSB locations targeted in Shchaslyvtseve (occupied Kherson region) and Yurivka (Donetsk region).

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that increasing the scale of Ukrainian long-range drone strikes on Moscow and St. Petersburg could help bring the war closer to an end by forcing Russia’s political leadership to experience the consequences of the conflict firsthand.
