Zelenskyy highlighted the role that F-16 aircraft provided by the Netherlands play in intercepting jet-powered Shahed drones.

"A significant percentage of these drones are downed specifically by the F-16s that the Netherlands delivered to Ukraine, and there are opportunities to support their operation with appropriate equipment," stated the head of state.

During the conversation, Zelenskyy and Jetten also addressed the protection of critical infrastructure and the strengthening of air defense systems in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Additionally, the Ukrainian President updated the Dutch Prime Minister on recent communications between Ukrainian officials and the American team.

The dialogue included potential technical-level trilateral meetings involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia.

"Realistic proposals that can bring peace closer are important. However, it is necessary for Russia to take negotiations seriously and stop trying to find constant excuses to drag out the war further," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Earlier, reports emerged that F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters supplied to Ukraine as part of Western military aid were flying roughly 80% of the Ukrainian Air Force’s combat sorties.
