Russian Ballistic Missile Strike Kills 3, Injures 20 in Central Ukrainian City of Pryluky

Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on the center of Pryluky in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, killing two people and injuring at least 20 others, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on May 19.
According to regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus, the attack hit the city at around 10 am, targeting one of the local enterprises. Nearby civilian infrastructure was also damaged, including a shopping center, a supermarket, and fire service equipment.
UPD. As of 2:50 pm, the number of people killed in the Russian strike increased to 3. A 15-year-old boy who was injured in a Russian missile attack on Pryluky has died in the hospital, Vladimir Chernov, head of the Pryluky District Military Administration, reported this to Suspilne.
An eyewitness recounted that the boy was walking near “Epicenter” at the time of the attack.
“He was hit by shrapnel in the back and stomach. Medics took him away immediately,” the woman said.

Among the wounded is a 14-year-old child. Medical teams are providing assistance to the injured, while emergency and municipal services continue working at the site of the strike.
“Around 10 am, the Russians struck the center of Pryluky with a ballistic missile. One of the enterprises was hit. A shopping center near the impact site, a supermarket, and fire equipment were damaged,” Chaus wrote.

“Unfortunately, we already know about two people killed. At least 17 were injured. Among them is a 14-year-old child. Medics are providing all necessary assistance. Relevant services are working at the site of the attack,” he added.
The strike adds to Russia’s continued use of ballistic missiles against Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure far from the immediate front line.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia launched more than 3,170 strike drones, over 1,300 guided aerial bombs, and 74 missiles against Ukraine over the past week.
