A Russian drone strike on a residential district of Zaporizhzhia killed two people and wounded 15 others on June 8.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported the casualties on his official Telegram channel.

The drone hit a residential neighborhood, placing civilians in their homes among the dead and injured as Russian forces continue to strike populated areas of the city.

Fedorov initially noted five people injured, a count that climbed to 15 as emergency teams worked the site. Two of those caught in the attack were killed, he confirmed, while all of the wounded were receiving medical care.

Days earlier, on June 4, a Russian drone attack on the city killed a 44-year-old woman and injured eleven others. The strike damaged a residential building and public transportation, and left at least one of the wounded in critical condition.

Zaporizhzhia has endured deadlier assaults this spring. In early May, Russian forces struck a residential district with four guided aerial bombs and several drones, killing 12 people and injuring 16.
