According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR), Russian forces had attempted to conceal the Pantsir-S2 inside an underground shelter. The agency said drones operated by its Department of Active Operations successfully targeted the position, resulting in the system’s destruction.

Video published by HUR shows the strike and a subsequent fire at the site. The footage also appears to show Russian personnel moving around the area after the attack.
“Russian occupiers attempted to hide their Pantsir-S2 air defense system in an underground shelter, but Department of Active Operations drones struck it in a way that left the equipment completely burned out,” HUR said in a statement accompanying the video.

The Pantsir-S2 is an upgraded variant of Russia’s Pantsir family of self-propelled air defense systems. The platform combines surface-to-air missiles and rapid-fire cannons designed to defend military facilities and critical infrastructure against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and drones.
Earlier, Ukrainian forces carried out a large-scale drone operation targeting Russian military logistics and fuel infrastructure on both sides of the Kerch Strait. The strikes reportedly hit an oil depot in occupied Kerch, maritime fuel facilities at Port Kavkaz, four S-400 radar stations, and two Pantsir air defense systems, while also disrupting ferry traffic between Russia and occupied Crimea.
