Ukraine Secures One of the Largest $1 Billion Territorial Defense Packages and 700 Dutch Missiles

International partners pledged about $4 billion in military aid at the latest Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels, held in the Ramstein format.
This total includes a $1 billion package for the Territorial Defense Forces, which stands as one of the largest single commitments for this branch since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov on June 18.

Allies also announced a preliminary $500 million package for long-range artillery designed to strike targets at distances of over 30 kilometers.
Furthermore, the Netherlands pledged more than 700 cruise missiles to support Ukrainian defensive capabilities.
The security assistance focuses heavily on upgrading structural capabilities across critical frontline defense lines. Financial allocations and delivery timelines are set to be fully completed as individual donor nations finalize their respective security assistance frameworks.

The substantial funding promises to secure steady supply chains for vital ammunition and equipment over the coming operational periods.
Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a major development in defense cooperation with Germany, noting that the forthcoming initiative was expected to be discussed at the NATO Defense Ministers meeting in Brussels.
He explained that Ukraine anticipated discussions would include a new European anti-ballistic defense initiative, which Kyiv had originally proposed alongside its European partners to strengthen regional security through joint defense production and intelligence sharing.
Zelenskyy also confirmed that a broad coalition of roughly nine to eleven countries had prepared comprehensive new aid packages primarily focused on reinforcing air capabilities, specifically targeting Patriot systems and anti-ballistic missiles.
