Ukrainian Border Guards Rescue 16 Foreign Crew From Burning Ship Hit by Russian Drone

Ukrainian border guards rescued the entire foreign crew of the bulk carrier Golden Rose after a Russian drone struck the vessel in the Black Sea and set its stern ablaze.

This was reported by the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on July 22. The drone struck the carrier's stern and triggered a large fire on board, the service stated.

An OSINT community account, The Ukrainian Review, shared footage showing the bulk carrier Golden Rose engulfed in flames after it was struck by a Russian drone in the Black Sea.

Citing Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, the account reported that Maritime Guard personnel carried out a search-and-rescue operation overnight on July 22, evacuating all 16 crew members—two Syrian nationals and 14 Egyptian nationals—from the burning vessel.

The border guards confirmed that the rescued crew was brought ashore and handed to medical teams. None of them was injured in the attack or the evacuation.
