The Ukhta Oil Refinery, officially known as Lukoil-Ukhtaneftepererabotka, is one of Russia’s oldest oil processing facilities, with an annual refining capacity of approximately 4.2 million tons of crude oil.
The plant produces a range of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, vacuum gas oil, and road and construction bitumen.
A significant portion of its fuel output supplies Russia’s Northwestern and Central Federal Districts, while some products are exported through Baltic ports, making the facility an important part of the country’s regional oil refining infrastructure.

The strike follows another Ukrainian attack on Russia’s oil refining infrastructure, with Ukrainian forces targeting the Omsk Oil Refinery, more than 2,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, using upgraded FP-1 long-range drones.
According to Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point, the drones successfully hit the Gazprom Neft-operated facility, triggering a fire. The refinery is Russia’s largest, with an annual processing capacity of 22.23 million tons of crude oil.
