Ukrainian Forces Hit Russian Fuel Tanker Convoy in Temporarily Occupied Zaporizhzhia Region

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck a convoy of Russian fuel tankers in the occupied city of Prymorsk, Zaporizhzhia region, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert “Madyar” Brovdi announced on August 3.

Brovdi published a video showing the strike on his Facebook page.
“Heavily won fuel reaches Crimea—only one out of three...” he wrote, commenting on the footage.
The strike comes as Russia continues to grapple with fuel shortages caused by repeated Ukrainian long-range drone attacks on its oil refining infrastructure.
In an effort to stabilize domestic supplies, Russia recently imported around 30,000 metric tons of AI-92 gasoline by sea from Morocco, Reuters reported on July 31, citing industry sources. According to the report, the shipment was delivered aboard a Panama-flagged tanker that loaded fuel at the Moroccan port of Tangier in mid-July before arriving at the Arctic port of Murmansk.
Reuters also reported that trading data from the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange showed AI-92 gasoline from the shipment was subsequently offered for rail distribution from Kola station, which serves the Murmansk port terminal.
The developments come as Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Bashneft-UNPZ oil refinery in Russia's city of Ufa overnight on August 2, marking the second reported attack on the refining complex in two consecutive days. The facility is part of one of Russia's largest oil-processing hubs, located more than 1,400 kilometers from the frontline.
