Ukrainian Neptune Missile Strike Destroys Three Buildings at Russia’s Atlant Aero Drone Factory

Three production buildings at the Atlant Aero drone manufacturing facility in Taganrog, Russia, were completely destroyed in a Ukrainian Neptune missile strike, according to an assessment by the OSINT project Exilenova+ on September 17.

The facility specializes in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and components for drones, Exilenova+ said.
According to the assessment, one warehouse used for military purposes sustained significant damage in the strike, with its roof collapsing over an area measuring approximately 60 by 40 meters.
Another production building was almost completely penetrated by the strike, with damage covering an estimated area of 70 by 40 meters.
As a result of a missile strike using Ukrainian Neptune missiles on September 12 against "Atlant Aero" in Taganrog—a facility specializing in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and their components—three production buildings were completely destroyed.

According to Militarnyi, the strike occurred on September 15, when NASA’s FIRMS system, which monitors thermal anomalies on the Earth’s surface, detected a large fire at the site.
The company supplies unmanned systems to the Russian Armed Forces and specializes in manufacturing the Molniya family of drones. Its products include the Molniya-1 and Molniya-2 strike drones, as well as the Molniya-2R reconnaissance variant.
Atlant Aero has been sanctioned by Ukraine, Canada, and the European Unionm Militarnyi reported.
The strike came days after reports of fires near another aviation-related facility in Taganrog. On September 12, Exilenova+ reported that satellite fire-detection data and videos posted by local residents indicated multiple fires across the city, including near the Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex.
The Beriev facility is involved in maintaining and modernizing several types of Russian military aircraft, including A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft, Be-series amphibious aircraft operated by the Russian Navy, and Tu-95MS/MSM strategic bombers. Russian forces use Tu-95 bombers to launch Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles against Ukraine.
