Ukrainian defense forces launched a series of coordinated drone and surface strikes overnight on November 29, targeting critical military and fuel infrastructure deep inside Russian territory, including a facility involved in the modernization of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces successfully struck several high-value military and economic targets, including the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex (TANTK) in Rostov region, a key aviation plant that services Tu-95MS bombers and A-50 airborne early warning aircraft.

The attack reportedly caused a fire in the workshop dedicated to the repair of Tu-95s, one of Russia’s primary long-range strategic bomber platforms.

The information was confirmed in an official statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram on November 29. The post described the operation as part of a broader campaign to “reduce the military-economic potential of the Russian aggressor.”

The facility in Taganrog, officially known as the G.M. Beriev Aviation Plant, plays a critical role in Russia’s strategic aviation program. It supports modernization efforts for both Tu-95MS strategic bombers and A-50 early warning aircraft—both essential components of Russia’s long-range airborne capabilities.

In addition to the attack in Taganrog, Ukraine confirmed a successful strike on a vertical tank (model RV-5000) at the Tuapse oil terminal in Krasnodar Krai. The destroyed tank, which held up to 5,000 cubic meters of oil or petroleum products, was part of the marine infrastructure supporting Russian fuel logistics.

The Taganrog aviation facility is of particular interest to Ukraine due to its role in extending the operational life and combat effectiveness of Russia’s strategic bombers. The Tu-95MS, a Cold War-era aircraft still in service, has been a major delivery platform for Kh-101 and other long-range air-launched cruise missiles.

Earlier, a satellite review of Russia’s Engels-2 strategic aviation base showed more than 130 trucks positioned on an aircraft parking apron, raising questions about their purpose and possible connection to bomber operations.
