Drone Attack Targets Russian Plant Linked to Combat Drones and EW Systems

An overnight strike reportedly targeted a key Russian defense plant in the city of Taganrog, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, on June 24.
“Something unknown flew into the Atlant-Aero plant in Taganrog,” Kovalenko wrote.
“This facility is an important hub in Russia’s defense-industrial complex, specializing in combat drones and control systems components.”

The Atlant-Aero plant is reportedly involved in several advanced military projects, including producing components for the Orion combat drone, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and digital integration platforms used in strike FPV drones and loitering munitions.
The factory is part of the supply chain that supports Russia’s growing drone warfare capabilities, which have played a key role in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
There has been no official confirmation from Russian authorities regarding the extent of the damage. However, local media and online channels also reported explosions in the cities of Kazan and Saratov overnight, near the Engels Air Base, which houses strategic bombers used in attacks on Ukraine.
