The United States is expecting to make progress during upcoming three-way talks with Ukraine and Russia scheduled for November in Abu Dhabi.

These details were reported on October 27 by the Financial Times, citing two sources familiar with the matter. While American officials previously connected future security guarantees for Ukraine to land concessions, they are no longer pressing Kyiv to give up territory.

According to the publication's sources, representatives from the US and Russia are also discussing the potential return of American energy companies to the Russian oil market as part of broader discussions to end Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Financial Times reported.

One scenario under consideration involves launching a joint US-Russian venture off the coast of Sakhalin Island in Russia's Far East once the war ends.

The sources also noted that discussions included bringing American firms into a project aimed at restarting Russian oil deliveries to Europe through the Druzhba pipeline.

On October 28, it was reported that Ukrainian drones struck more than 100 Russian trains used for military logistics, including fuel transportation, as Ukraine intensified attacks on railway supply routes supporting Moscow’s frontline forces.

According to Ukraine’s 1st National Guard Corps “Azov,” the strikes disabled locomotives, fuel tank cars, and other railway equipment used to support Russian military operations in occupied eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian drone operations reached major railway junctions beyond the immediate front line, including Volnovakha, Debaltseve, Yasynuvata, Yenakiieve, and Dovzhanske.
