“We have a plan”—Zelenskyy Outlines Joint Strategy to Pressure Putin Into Ending the War

During the Ukrainian Youth Forum, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine and its partner nations have established a joint action plan aimed at ending Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy stressed the necessity of expanding domestic pressure against the invading power. "We need to bring the war back to the territory of Russia, according to Ukrinform on August 12.

After this, Russian society will feel the consequences of this war and will exert pressure on the authorities," the president stated.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader urged international partners to strengthen defense support, specifically regarding air defense systems.
This appeal comes as Moscow prepares a new wave of mobilization for the autumn period following pseudo-parliamentary elections, aiming to draft as many personnel into the military as possible.
Regarding diplomatic and strategic leverage, Zelenskyy noted that coordinated action remains key to changing the current trajectory.
"Putin does not want to stop this war, but he will stop it. We have a plan. We understand what we need to do. This is a joint plan with our partners on how to exert pressure on him," Zelenskyy said.
Stability along the frontline remains crucial to maintaining political leverage. Ukrainian forces holding their ground provides the necessary foundation for strong negotiations, whereas battlefield vulnerabilities force unwanted compromises.
Over the past half year, Ukrainian forces liberated 26 villages during offensive operations in the Oleksandrivka direction. Recent developments also reflect shifting internal dynamics inside Russia and active international engagements.
On August 10, internal Russian polling data revealed a growing percentage of citizens favoring an end to hostilities. Furthermore, on August 4, Kyiv reported ongoing daily communication with representatives of Donald Trump regarding pressure mechanisms against Russia.
On August 8, Zelenskyy reviewed the outcomes of a 40-day targeted campaign against Russian infrastructure, noting that strikes inflicted damage worth trillions of rubles on enemy logistics.
Previously, Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces had liberated 745 square kilometers and retook 26 settlements across three southeastern regions during an eight-month offensive in the Oleksandrivka direction.
Conducted between January and August by Ukraine's Air Assault Forces alongside other units, the targeted campaign reportedly resulted in over 9,500 Russian troops killed and more than 6,600 wounded, while also expanding the pool of prisoners available for future exchanges.
