CIA Director John Ratcliffe arrived in Moscow after the US received intelligence regarding potential Russian preparations for mobilization and provocations against NATO countries, according to The Wall Street Journal on August 25.

On August 25, CIA Director John Ratcliffe flew to Moscow aboard a US Air Force C-17A Globemaster III after making a stopover in Riga, Latvia.
Ahead of the trip, Washington reportedly notified Kyiv about the high-level delegation's visit to the Russian capital and requested a temporary pause on Ukrainian strikes against Moscow, according to Axios.
Flight-tracking data later indicated that the American aircraft departed Moscow that same afternoon, while Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed to have no information regarding the visit or scheduled meetings with US officials.
