Europe Provides Two-Thirds of Intelligence to Ukraine, French Foreign Minister Reveals

European nations supply two-thirds of the intelligence delivered to Kyiv, with France playing a key role, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said.
Speaking on the France Inter radio station on October 15, he emphasized that European partners have long provided the majority of total support for Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Barrot’s comments come amid media reports and public discussion suggesting that Washington might threaten to limit intelligence-sharing or military assistance to Ukraine. By highlighting Europe's primary share in intelligence sharing, the minister sought to reassure public confidence in Kyiv's defense capabilities regardless of shifts in US politics.
The foreign minister pointed out that current operations extend far beyond physical warfare, noting that battle lines are being fought both on the ground and in people's minds, France Inter reported.
Addressing broader influence campaigns, Barrot criticized the Kremlin and its online networks. He stated that social media activity directed by Moscow actively attempts to turn European public opinion away from supporting Ukraine and its population.

France has meanwhile been moving toward deeper military support for Ukraine. Earlier this month, Paris began preparations to train Ukrainian pilots on Rafale fighter jets, with an initial batch of 16 aircraft agreed and plans eventually extending to 100 jets.
